    Cleveland Cobbles

It’s that time of year again. The spring classics are starting, and that means it's time for Cleveland Cobbles. Cleveland Cobbles is an unsupported group ride of roughly 40 miles through Old Brooklyn and Tremont areas of Cleveland linking as many brick roads together as possible with some fun hill climbs or muur if you prefer.

We will roll out of the E 49th st. Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation at 8:00am.

All are welcome, this is a public event. All skill levels. However; there will be some hills, and as we found out the other year we lost quite a few people during and after the second hill which is about 5 miles in. So make sure you are able to climb some. In the same vein as the Classics, this ride will be held rain, shine, or snow. Any bike is welcome; however, this route will be friendly to cross bikes. I am throwing some dirt into this edition. You will be able to skip the dirt sections, but who wants to do that? Be prepared for repairing flats. This route is notorious for flats.
    Hope to see you out.

Calling all Mountain Bikers, Gravel Grinders, Cyclocross Enthusiast, and Fat Bike Fanatics

     It's RACE TIME!

    Saturday, May 5th, 2018 @ 10:00am

    Loudonville, Ohio

For the first time the Black Fork is a Race!  This early season gravel road race and ride will test your spirit, legs, and lungs and is perfect for Mountain Bikers, Cyclocross Racers, Adventure Cyclist and Gravel Junkies itching for a challenge after a long winter of spinning on the trainer.  Participants will get a glimpse of some of the same route as the legendary Mohican 100 National Ultra Endurance Mountain Bike Race and will have an adventure you just can’t get on pavement.  The three route options near Loudonville, Ohio are almost entirely on gravel roads and have varying degrees of climbing.   The 23 mile route has just three big climbs, lots of rollers and great views for participants who may be new to gravel grinding or don't have the legs and lungs to tackle the longer, more challenging distances.  Our original 30 mile route has seven long, steep climbs that will test your strength, fast and furious downhills that will make you pucker, and an occasional smooth roller that will put a smile on your face.  And our 54 mile race route is for the advanced adventure junkie who just can't get enough gravel.  It has 10 big climbs that will test the strongest racers.  Regardless of which route you choose, none are easy so you'll definitely have earned your beer at the finish!

For the 54 mile race, the top three overall finishers will receive a cash payout and award medals.  The top three finishers in each age category will receive recognition at the awards ceremony.  We also have a King and Queen of the Mountain Award for the first guy and gal to reach the top of our second major climb (on Big Hill Road).

Go to https://sites.google.com/site/bfggtest/ for more details and BikeReg to register on-line.

    Whiskey Rebellion Gravel 50/100K

The Whiskey Rebellion Gravel Ride will be a fun and friendly tour through historic PA landscapes of Washington County. Washington County was the site of a farmer rebellion against the first U.S. tax levied in 1791 -- a tax on whiskey. Today, Washington County prospers from gas exploration and the country roads we'll be riding are peppered with old and new farms along with gas pipelines. Expect roads to vary from little gravel to big, gnarly new gravel and from hilly to rolling. There will be one rest stop during the 100K, as we will be looping through our starting point to finish off the first 50K and continue on with our 100K, which will also be looping back to finish right where we started. The entire ride will be lightly/sparsely supported (due to lack of cell phone coverage). The terrain will be challenging but, we will have a few different paced groups so that everyone has a group.

Funk Bottoms Gravel will once again challenge cyclists to Ohio’s Toughest Gravel Grinder. Two races, one brutal course!  A one lap 100K race and for the ultimate challenge, a double lap 200K race. The course will take riders through some of Ohio's most scenic roads.  On each lap, riders will be challenged with over 7,000 feet of vertical climbing! Road conditions are a mix of paved, chip & seal, gravel, and dirt roads. The Funk 100K/200K is a self-supported event and riders must be prepared for any mechanical and nutritional needs. No outside support is allowed. Our good friends at Hammer Nutrition will once again be providing support with Hammer HEED before the race, and at the secret checkpoint. As usual the course will have sections from the previous year’s races along with some new sections.   This is a cue sheet race. The course is NOT marked, and the roads are open to normal traffic in the area.  Expect to encounter cars, trucks, horses, buggies, farm equipment, ATV's, buzzards, road kill, and the occasional farm dog at any given time. Wanna get dirty?  A super challenging and hilly road / off-road race in northern West Virginia.  70 miles and 7000' of climbing, this one will drive you to tears!  Best suited for mountain or 'cross bikes

This is going to be a mean one, Folks! This course will take you over dirt and paved "State Roads" around Monongalia County in Northern West Virginia. Finish times could be 6 plus hours for some riders. Road conditions may include missing bridges, car-sized potholes, gravel, mud, black top, cow paths, and maybe a piece of road kill or two. That's what we call good riding! Leave your expensive Flux-Capacitors and fancy wheels at home and maybe bring the cross bike. It might be the best tool for the job, but bring whatever you think is best for you. However, if you show up with Zipps on your road bike we may laugh and point at you. This race course has just about everything a cyclist says they want when they're talking it up with their buddies. Now let us see ya ride it! Course will have fully stocked aid stations along the way. Sag support will be provided.

    Tour de Donut

The Tour de Donut is a unique bicycle event, where your ability to eat donuts is just as important as your ability to ride your bicycle fast. The event is a mass start timed ride where riders visit donut stops and eat donuts. For each donut the rider eats during the ride (and keeps down) they have 5 minutes deducted from their ride time. There are prizes in several classes including the coveted golden Tour de Donut championship belt for the best adjusted "donut time". We also award the most donuts eaten in several classes, and for the speed freaks we also award the fastest bike only time.

This ride is intended to be fun and include all cyclists pro to amateur, triathletes, tourist, fitness riders, fun riders, or you can dust off that two-wheeler you found along the road, or in the back of the barn you are not going to want to miss this event.

While the event is a personal challenge, few consider it a serious competition, remember this is all in fun! We doubt the next Tour de France champion will have Tour de Donut Champion listed on his palmares, so eat some donuts and ride as fast or slow as you wish. All roads are open to traffic, and all traffic rules must be followed. Roads are marked with large custom donut markings (in several colors and some have sprinkles) so you do not get lost.

Additional Ride information can be found at http://www.thetourdedonut.com/.
