    Hello Fellow Club Members,

Years ago, before social media, and before email (mostly), the club shared news via "Crank Mail," a periodical. Several editions were snail-mailed per year. In the CTC section of an edition, members that had joined the club since the previous edition were usually listed.

Your Leadership Council thought this was a nice idea and decided to try it out. The intent is to post new members on a monthly basis. Below are the new members for the first four months of 2018.

    New members -- Welcome!

My name is Matthew and I am a director at Timber Ridge Camp in West Virginia. Our organization is currently looking for a biking director during the summer of 2017. I am reaching out to a number of biking clubs and organizations throughout Ohio as I will be there near the end of the month. I was wondering if you could spread the word and see if anyone within your organization would be interested. This would be a summer seasonal job and allows the individual to bike 5-6 days a week while simultaneously spreading the knowledge and passion of cycling onto a younger generation.

If there is any interest please forward this email address and have them get in contact with me. We pay competitively for all activity directors in addition to providing laundry service & room and board throughout the summer.

    Thank you,
    Matthew Guffey

Have questions about Amtrak's bike service? This is your chance to ask it!

Amtrak will hold an open house at the National Bike Summit, where Summit registrants can check out train cars with different types of bike accommodations (bring your bike!) and ask questions of Amtrak staff about bike access, specific routes and stations, and how to bring your bike on an Amtrak train.

If you will be at the Summit you can register here to attend the open House (and get a Amtrak Loves Bikes T-shirt)

If you aren't coming to the Summit you can submit your questions for Amtrak here-

Amtrak will give written answers to all questions and the League of American Bicyclists will publish answers on our blog. (for those asking questions, we can also send answers directly to your email if you provide it in the survey)

    So ask your questions!!

    To All Current Members,

On  behalf of the nominating committee of CTC, I am pleased to bring you the results of the Leadership Council Member Election voting.  All three nominees have been successfully elected to the Leadership Council for the next two (2) years.  Congratulations to Annemarie Cvijanovic, George Novotney, and Jake Yanchar!

Please be advised the next leadership council meeting is tomorrow night at 6 pm at the Kirkland Public Library.  All three new LC Members are expected to attend and assume the duties of council (Note: This notice is short because voting just closed -- do your best new LC Members to attend this Monday's regular meeting.)

Best of luck for a productive stint on council!

    Note the Following BallotBin info:

    • 79 of 384 members receiving e-ballots voted for 0, 1, 2, or 3 of the above candidates in their single ballot cast

    All Cyclists,

The Cleveland Metroparks is interested in developing a network of on and off-road bicycle, pedestrian, and equestrian facilities that connects communities to Cleveland Metroparks Reservations.

The purpose of the survey is to find out who the user groups are in the area, what types of facilities users currently use and desire, and a very draft alignment study of on-road bicycle opportunities, off-road shared-use path options, and natural surface trails.

You can go to their Facebook page to take the survey:

Or, you can log on to the survey directly at:
