What: Rock Creek Roubaix What's that: A hard cycling event over 50-miles or 25-miles of fast gravel and maybe some mud! When: July 13, 2019 Where: Rock Creek, Ohio Who: Any cyclist that thinks they have what it takes to tackle the gravel roads of Ashtubla county! Why: Because we like it rough, that's why!
Mass Start roll out at 10:00 AM for all 50-miles racers and 10:05 AM for 25-mile Rock riders.
Course Information: 50ish miles of dirt, mud, gravel and paved roads. Although the course is roughly 80% gravel roads, it’s laid out to be FAST, so don’t expect a whole lot of steep climbs or crazy descents. Do expect potholes, loose gravel and maybe a critter crossing here and there.
This is going to be a fast one! This course will take you over dirt and paved "State Roads" around Ashtbula County in Northern Ohio. Road conditions may include potholes, gravel, mud, black top, horse apples, and maybe a piece of road kill or two. Leave your expensive Flux-Capacitors and skinny tires at home and maybe bring the cross bike. It might be the best tool for the job, but bring whatever you think is best for you. The course will have fully stocked aid stations along the way. Sag support will be provided.
Awards: ~ AWARDS CEREMONY for 50-mile race WILL TAKE PLACE AT 1:00 pm! ~ Top 3 in all solo classes receive prizes.
Rock Rules you should know:
~ Your racing age for the Rock Creek Roubaix is your age on December 31 ~ Never go left of the CENTERLINE on any road at ANYTIME! The roads are active, stay to the right as best as possible. Road guards will be posted at major road intersections. ~ Take on food and drink is only allowed at one of the two aid stations along the course. ~ Cutting the course will result in a disqualification. ~ You must obey all traffic laws while on your bike. ~ Helmets are required at all times.
